Thanyapura Sports Resort, Phuket, Thailand

NEXT CAMP: Sunday 7th February to Sunday 14th February 2021 (6 training days)

In 2021 we will be returning to the amazing Thanyapura Health and Sports Resort on the beautiful tropical island of Phuket, Thailand. 

Phuket is famous for its year-round warm weather with average highs of 27-29 C. Add to this incredible scenery and world class training facilities and this makes Thanyapura the perfect venue for those looking for a quality winter training week. 

The Training Venues

  • Swimming sessions take place in the beautiful Thanyapura 50m Olympic Pool. The pool is only a few minutes walk from the hotel accommodation which makes the early morning routine super easy and stress free. Alongside the main pool is an additional 25m pool which is perfect for warm-ups, cool downs and drills. 

  • Bike sessions take place on the roads around Phuket. Road surfaces are very good and the views are incredible. There are plenty of hills to climb as well as flats to stretch the legs and admire the views. Even the bike hill reps session is a pleasure as it is done within metres of the ocean. Just watch out for the crabs scuttling across the road!

  • Run sessions - Thanyapura resort is set in the countryside so we have the choice of either running around some of the regions roads or trails, or on the world class running track right situated on the resort itself.  

The Schedule

The camp schedule will vary from day-to-day and will be flexible but in general, the day will start with a swim session of around an hour. It will then be time to refuel with breakfast before preparing to head out for the next training session.  On most days there will be a bike ride. The rides will vary in length and terrain, each with a specific training focus.  There will also be run sessions on most days. Again, each run session will have a specific aim (even if that is just a gentle social/recovery run following the bike).  

The overall feel of the camp will be informal and relaxed (sessions will start on time however, so be warned!).  Athletes are free to choose whether they attend all training sessions - there is no pressure from the coach, it is up to you! Between training sessions, your time will be your own to rest, recover and explore!

*Costs are based on two people sharing a double room. If you would prefer single occupancy this can be arranged for an additional £350

Accommodation and Meals

Thanyapura is a 77-room premium resort and as such the hotel, their rooms, food and other facilities are very good quality. Athletes will be staying in the 'Pool Wing' area of the resort which offers a dynamic and refreshing atmosphere for guests with a 25m recreational pool, pool bar and 24-reception. Thanyapura Resort has several restaurants and cafes including The Booster Deli and Cafe, Khun Khao, DiLite and DiVine. Daily breakfast will be taken in the DiVine Restaurant where guests can select from a buffet style breakfast which includes freshly baked breads, free-range eggs and organic fruits and vegetables. The menu has been designed to include elements of Local Thai Favorites, Raw Plant Based, Vegan, Western, European and Asian specialties.

Other Information.....

Travel Arrangements: The camp fee does not include your travel to Phuket and you will need to arrange your own transportation to Phuket Airport. Most travellers will be coming from the UK so the flight we recommend is the Thai Airlines flight TG911 that leaves London Heathrow at 11:50 on Saturday 6th February and arrives in Phuket (with a transfer in Bangkok) at 09:55 on Sunday 7th. You will be tired on arrival on the 7th but with a light day on Sunday and a good nights sleep Sunday night, you should be ready to train on Monday morning!  

The recommended return flight is the Thai Airlines flight TG202 that leaves Phuket at 10:55 on Sunday 14th February. This also transfers at Bangkok and lands back at Heathrow at 19:35 on Sunday evening.

Son Baulo, Can Picafort, Mallorca

NEXT CAMP: May 2021 Dates to be confirmed (6 training days)

New for 2021 we are headed to the European training Mecca of Mallorca. This Spanish island offers it all when it comes to multisport training with great climbs (including the famous Sa Colobra), flat time-trial routes, sea-front and trail runs, and safe sea swimming. 

Mallorca offers warm sunny weather in April with an average of 7 hours of sunshine per day. Chances of rain are low with an average of only 5 days of rain per month. Add to this incredible scenery and world class training facilities and this makes Mallorca the perfect venue for those looking for a quality pre-season training week. 

The Training Venues

  • Swimming sessions take place in the 25m pool at the Hotel and Spa Ferrer Janeiro. The pool is only a few minutes walk from the hotel accommodation which makes the early morning routine super easy and stress free.

  • Bike sessions take place on the roads around northeast Mallorca. Road surfaces are very good and the views are incredible. There are plenty of hills to climb as well as flats to stretch the legs and admire the views. 

  • Run sessions - Run sessions will take place in and around Can Picafort. There are plenty of seaside routes and trails to explore!

Accommodation

The Hotel Ferrer Concord Hotel is situated on the Son Bauló beachfront, Can Picafort. This adults ony hotel has a gym, swimming pool (leisure) and sauna. The rooms are modern and comfortable with views over the town or spectacular sea front. St. Moritz, Switzerland 

NEXT CAMP: 2021 Date TBC (6 training days)

We are excited to announce that we will be returning the awe-inspiring alpine resort of St. Moritz, Switzerland in August 2019 for another Do3 Triathlon Training Camp

Famous for its winter sports, in the summer St. Moritz transforms into a multi-sport Mecca and becomes the ultimate triathlon training venue. Situated at an altitude of over 5900ft St. Moritz is a well known training venue for athletes looking to get the additional gains in performance that training altitude training can provide. Simply living at this altitude is said to have a similar impact to light training! 

 

The Training Venues

Swimming sessions take place in the beautiful Ovaverva Pool and Spa. Post workout, you can recover while taking in the alpine views from the outdoor spa pool.

Bike sessions take place on the roads in and around St. Moritz. Road surfaces are very good and the views are incredible. Plenty of mountain passes to climb (and descend!) as well as flats to stretch the legs and admire the views. Even the bike hill reps session is a pleasure as it is done on the Olympic bobsleigh course!

Run sessions - we have the choice of either running around some of the regions alpine lakes or trails, or on the world class running track right in the heart of St. Moritz.

Accommodation and Meals

St. Moritz is a very well known and 'premium' resort. As such, standard hotel accommodation can be very expensive, with a weeks stay easily costing over £1000. In order to make things more affordable and keep camp costs down, we will be staying in 'The Staff House' attached to the Giardino Mountain Hotel. As the name suggests, this accommodation is where hotel staff stay during the busy summer period. Historically, this accommodation has regularly been used by visiting athletes during their altitude training phases. Rooms are clean, well maintained and have their own bathrooms and Wifi. On most days there will be time for a leisurely buffet breakfast which will be taken in the neighboring Hotel Sonne. In the evenings, there are plenty of great restaurants to choose from. Alternatively, you can prepare your own food in the staff house kitchen.

Other Information.....

Travel Arrangements: You will need to arrange your own transportation to St. Moritz. Unless you choose to drive, this journey will include a flight (usually to Zurich) and then two trains. We will send you all the details you need to allow you to book and plan your travel appropriately. Less experienced traveller? - despite the plane/train nature of the journey, it is still relatively straightforward so please don't worry about this.

The Awe-Inspiring Journey to St. Moritz!

The train journey to St. Moritz is a treat in itself. At Chur station you will need to take the world famous 'Glacier Express' (click here for wikipedia link). As the name suggests, this train will take you up through the mountains and eventually on to St. Moritz. On its way up the train passes over and through hundreds of bridges and tunnels including the incredible Lanwasser Viaduct (Wiki Link) which carries you over a 200ft drop to the valley below.

Sands Beach Resort, Costa Teguise Lanzarote 

NEXT CAMP: 2021 Date TBC (6 training days)

We are pleased to announce that our next Triathlon Training Camp will take place in Lanzarote in spring 2018. The camp will be held at the amazing Sands Beach resort in Costa Teguise from Saturday 3rd of February until Saturday 10th of February.

Our camps are designed to cater for Triathletes of all abilities and are low-pressure. You are free to take part in as much (or as little) as you like. The Island of Lanzarote is perfect for Tri training. Good quality, wide roads are perfect for cycling, and the Islands volcano's provide some challenging terrain. The weather in February is perfect for training while still being warm enough to catch some spring rays during down-time.

The Venue

Sands Beach Resort is located in Costa Teguise, Lanzarote. The facilities at the resort are excellent and include a fully equipped gym, 25m laned pool and and other sports facilities. There are Sports Massage, Physiotherapy and Spa facilities also available if needed (these are not included in the camp fee).

Sands Beach has two restaurants, both offering great quality and a wide range of food. Other facilities at the resort include: Sports Shop, Mini-Supermarket, Hair Dresser, Bike Workshop, Cafe and Bar. The whole resort has Wi-Fi coverage (included in the camp fee).

The camp schedule does vary from day-to-day but in general, the day starts with a swim session of around an hour followed by breakfast (the food at Sands Beach is really good - in fact probably too good!). Most days will then have a bike ride followed by a run later in the day. The overall feel of the camp will be informal and relaxed (sessions will start on time however, so be warned!).
