Warwickshire's Do3 triathlon squad was out in force over the weekend competing in the region's events. The squad's female relay team took podium place at the Warwickshire Triathlon. Made up of Shipston on Stour resident and professional triathlete Eloise du Luart, Statford on Avon’s Katy O'Neil and Toni Gaskins; the team completed the swim in 6:12, the 20km cycle in 31:30 and the 5km run in 21:57. Locals John Wrottesley, Lisa Pary and Jonathan Ward also took part in the sprint triathlon which was centred from Stratford's leisure centre.
Further afield Carl James, Claire Jackson and Tim Fenton took part in a 100-mile closed road cycle, the Birmingham Velo. Andrew White quite literally took on 'The Gauntlet'; the middle distance triathlon at Hever Castle while James Cusack ran the Berlin marathon.
2017 has been a record year for Do3’s squad with triathlete Eloise du Luart turning professional. Corinne Moss and Seanin McPherson raced at the ITU World Triathlon Grand Final in Rotterdam and Paul Nash competed at age group in Ironman 70.3 World Championships in Chattanooga.
Head coach Dave Knight says, 'We've concluded the season on a high through a deserved win for our local athletes as well many personal goals achieved and smashed. It's now time for everyone to rest up, take a well-earned break for a few weeks and plan the racing calendar for 2018.'
Do3 squad is coached and managed by Dave Knight, one of the UK’s leading triathlon coaches and part of the Great Britain Age Group Team. The squad is made up of over 150 Midlands based athletes; from triathlon enthusiasts and age group competitors to professional athletes
