Do3 weekend round up - Bronze at British Paratriathlon Championships
Do3’s Georgina Lord asserted her presence as a leading paratriathlete with a bronze at the British Paratriathlon Championships held at Eton Dorney on 27thMay. Despite it being her first season competing in triathlon she raced the 750m swim, 20km bike and 5km run in a highly competitive field to complete the race in 1:30:55.
Lee McKervey travelled to Florianopolis in Brazil to participate in Ironman Brazil which was raced over a 3.9km sea swim, 180km bike and 42.20km run. He completed the full distance triathlon in 11:10:07. In the UK, Sophie Kirk was 1stlady and 3rdoverall at Marlow Sprint. Raced on a pacey course over 750m swim, 24.5km bike and 5km run, she finished in a time of 1:20:20, 12 minutes ahead of the 2ndplace female.
The squad is currently preparing for the upcoming busy weekends with Challenge Denmark, Ironman 70.3 Staffordshire and Cotswold 113 middle distance races, along with the European standard distance championships in Weert, Netherlands, the British standard distance championships in Leeds, multi distance races at Bosworth and Blenheim sprint.
