Do3 Squad Strava Update. Spot Prize this week thanks to Cyclists Fighting Cancer (CFC @CyclistsvCanc
In the Strava table, Do3 Coached athlete Dan Hall athlete takes the overall hours title with just over 11hrs of total training time. Dan is in the final throws of training for the forthcoming Outlaw Half which takes place a week on Sunday (29th May). Dan put in 90mins of swimming, 4hrs 37mins of cycling and 4hrs 54secs of running (which was also the highest run total of the week). Great work Dan, looking good for a great race next week!
Sarah Jane McDonnell from the Do3 Swim Squad again took top honours in the swim time table with a huge 6hrs 36mins. Sarah Jane continues to put the time in as she prepares for her English Channel relay swim.
Finally, Tim Tandy from the Do3 Swim Squad topped off the bike time table with 7hrs 56mins. Tim has recently been riding in the sun on a training holiday so put in some good sunny (and hilly) miles.
Great work done by all this week!
This week we have a spot prize to give away courtesy of Cyclists Fighting Cancer (CFC). CFC is a great charity who specialise in raising funds for children and young people suffering from cancer. Their aim is to help young cancer sufferers regain their physical fitness, strength and confidence by giving them new bikes, adapted trikes, tandems and other equipment and support.
In order to raise funds, CFC organise a number of events throughout the year. Click Here to take a look at their events (why not enter a few to help this amazing charity!). One of their events this year is the CFC Charity Triathlon which is being held at Eton Dorney Lake, Windsor. The CFC Triathlon has a couple of distance options including: Super Sprint (450m / 9.6k / 2.5k) and Sprint (750m / 19.5k / 5k). There is also a team relay option. This is run over the sprint distance where you take part as a team – one swimmer swimming 750m, one cyclist riding 19.2 and then one runner running 5k. If you are interested in finding out more about the CFC Triathlon click here.
CFC have been kind enough to donate one entry to their triathlon and I am glad to be able to award this as a spot prize in this weeks Strava competition. As mentioned in previous weeks, the Do3 Strava table is intended to generate some friendly competition between squad-mates. Spot prizes are awarded simply to anyone who I think deserves it for that particular week – it won't always be given to whoever is top-of-the-charts timewise. That said, this week I am going to give the prize to Dan Hall for finishing off his Outlaw training on a high. Well done Dan – well deserved. I will be in touch.
From now on the Strava updates will be posted via the Do3 website blog so if you miss an update or want to look at previous weeks visit http://www.do3coaching.com/blog. Also, you will notice that the Do3 Website has a new Strava icon on the right hand side of the page (as below – desktop version only). Click this if you want a quick look at the squads latest updates and totals.
