After a summer 'break' the the Do3 Squad News and Strava Updates are back! Firstly, we have a problem people, the Strava group now has so many members I can't get the whole table on one page! We are now up to 31!! Anyway, without further ado, here are the score on the doors…..
Taking the honors for overall training time is Uber cyclist Shin Braich. I have been working with Shin to make his swimming as strong as his cycling so hopefully we will see him along to the swim squads soon (although no swim time logged Shin – naughty!). Shin clocked a massive 13hrs 2mins of pure cycling last week – great work Shin!
On the swimming side of things, guess who?! Yep, Sarah Jane McDonnell took the swim time title again as she finalises training for her channel relay swim (more updates on that next week!).
Finally, our runner of the week is Mel Knight. Mel pounded out over 4hrs 30 last week to take the run title. Great effort Mel :)
We have a spot prize this week too thanks to Everyone Active! (thanks to Toni Gaskins for sorting this). The prize this week is an Everyone Active Backpack so perfect for all your training bits and bobs. There has been so much good work done out there this week that it has been hard to pick out one 'winner'. One person who for me stands out this week is again, Mel Knight. Aside from doing so much running, Mel has recently joined the swim squads and has been really working hard to improve her technique and catch up with the rest of you speedies. Mel – I know it's not easy and it can be frustrating, but you have made great progress already so stick with it and you will be fish-like before you know it!
Other stand-out performance from last week included Dan Hall's blast around the Ironman 70.3 Zell am See in a tad over 7hrs. Dan battled through the heat and even managed to make a early exit off the bike part way around the bike course! Despite this Dan has a great time in Austria at his first Ironman branded event (I suspect he now has 'the bug'!)
With loads of big races coming up for lots of squad members over the coming weeks, its going to be super exciting! Make sure you get all your training and races uploaded and make sure you tell us all what you are up to on Facebook.
