Do3’s Corinne Moss bags Great British Champion title - Squad round up 17-18 August 2019
The triathlon scene claimed a new GB champion at the weekend as Do3’s Corinne Moss won in her age group at the 2019 British Age Group Championships. The GB final, which was held at Aberfeldy Triathlon in Perthshire, was raced over a 1.9km swim in Loch Tay, 90km bike through the Highlands and a 21km run in the grounds of Taymouth Castle. Corinne, who also coaches Do3, completed the swim in x, bike in x and run in x to become the GB age group champion at middle distance.
Further afield and stepping the distance, several of the squad competed in Ironman competitions. The long course races were made up of a 3.8km swim, 180km bike and 40km run.
James Hodge, Naomi Robb and Michal Bartosik competed in soaking conditions in Copenhagen and all earned the title Ironman with times of 11:42:43, 11:49:43 and 10:40:15 respectively. The weather in Sweden was equally wet and despite this Victoria Jeffs and Stuart Pryor completed Ironman Kalmar in times of 15:24:45 and 13:16:36.
Closer to home, Alison Robbins took part in Bredons Harwick Open Water Sprint Triathlon; an event made up of 750m swim, 20km bike and 5km run. She completed the race in 1:29:24 and was 3rdin her age group and one of the top 20 women competitors. The squad also took part in other events including COGS Cycle Sportive where Marc Bozdogan, Mike Davis, Steven Hession and Toni Senior raced the 100km course. They took the 7,8,9,10thplaces overall and Toni was 1stwoman.
